Gestalt Grids
Closure
The typed boxes are closing in but there remains minor negative space. This negative is present due to the 4 central modules not being filled to the flowline. Which is why the gap or referred to as the negative space is located at the center of the grid. The text inside the boxes remain untouched in the columns and rows of the grid.
Proximity
The grid above shows the gestalt principle of proximity. I wanted all of the boxes to remain on their flowline and column. All of the rows only consist of two boxes distanced from each other by singular modules in the 4x4 grid. These modules aren't considered spatial zones because the negative space or modules isn't grouped together in one specific spot. There are only individual modules between the boxes.
Similarity
There is a similarity that all of the typed boxes have spacing in between the intervals. However the modules vary in sizes or in position. Which is what makes the typed boxes distinct from one another. Not all of the boxes have the same amount of negative space also known as the module. A couple of modules are only filled partially or halfway in the which makes it seem there is space between the texts.
Figure
This gestalt grid was supposed to represent the principle of figure. There are spatial zones that
are vertical so that way the figure can have a vertical and horizontal structure. That is how the figure is structured the way it turned out due to spatial zones and the alignment provided by the columns. The text however those cross the flow line making the text seem connected but still are split between the intervals.
Continuation

Firstly I wanted the grid to be something new but depicting the same principle. By not being repetitive with other common designs using the same principle. I decided to resemble a line starting from the
top right corner and continuing diagonally to the bottom right corner and ends in the bottom left corner. In brief, it presents a zig zag continuation sequence. The columns were used to align the boxes to make it seem it's going diagonally. The only rows that were left untouched were the bottom and top rows to make continuation look like a zig zag. The flowline keeps the texts in their precise position.

The design's are nice and I don't think the one with similarity shows much of it but looks alright
ReplyDeleteI really like the similarity principle design. How some modules were halfway filled was a very creative way of designing it.
ReplyDeleteThe designs are really nice and understandable but with similarity its hard to understand what he was trying to make because it does not look similar. with continuation its well made and a smart idea. With closure I can see that he made a small box out of the grids and its well made because he's taking the negative space made from the other boxes of the grids to make it look nice. His reflections to his designs are also nice explain what he wanted to do.
ReplyDeleteI like how creative you are in some designs. I like the closure grid. It shows how much work you did into it.
ReplyDeleteThe designs are very creative and liked how you used the grid to come up with the designs.
